32Kbps is already perfect, why change to 24kbps? 5 Years, 8 Months ago
Sir Dave,

Good day!
We have been enjoying the audio quality of 32 kbps AAC+ coz it's very close to CD Quality. But you change it to 24Kbps perhaps because of the growing number of listeners.

Pls bring back the 32kbps AAC+. I dont like 24Kbps.. it's somekind of a robotic music.

God bless.

*Friends pls post you comment bout the downgrade of audio sampling rate.

I switched to 24kbps for two reasons:
    (1) To give listeners with poor quality dialup lines a little extra margin of error.
    (2) To squeeze out a few more listener slots from the alotted bandwidth.

C'mon Bernard...it doesn't sound THAT bad. Very little difference from 32kbps.

It's noticeable sir. Robot-like sound in the high frequency of audio. Been encoded lots of 24kbps aac/mp4/3gp for mobile phone and that is normal. It's ok. But only if you could let us tune again with the 32kbps stream will be happy again.

I've switched to mono. That cleared up some of the artifacts. How does it sound now? At 24kbps we have a choice of bad sounding stereo (with poor seperation) or better sounding mono.

Oh God! Pls dont make it MONO.

Use Parametric Stereo instead (encoded to mono and decoded by player to stereo. I use headphone.. painful to the brain if it's mono.

The robot like sound seems reduced. But the sound is positioned at the center only. No sorround!

Suggestion again...

Sir, it would be better if we will remove the

Broadband (128k MP3)

and all will just simply tune in to AAC+.

Broadband
64 Kbps, Stereo (super highspeed)
32 Kbps, Parametric Stereo (highspeed)

Dial-up
24 Kbps, Parametric Stereo (slow)
16 Kbps, Mono (very slow)

Why use MP3? Winamp plays AAC+ natively, Real Player Free now also plays AAC+, Windows Media Player with Orban plugin plays AAC+... What for?
