We are considering changing from mp3Pro to AAC+ streaming. We'd love to know how you feel about this.

How i wish we could have it as soon as posible! 3 Years ago
MP4-AAC+ stream is really better than MP3Pro.

Again my suggestion for the audio bandwidth is this:

48 Kbps for broadband
24 Kbps for dial up

all in 44KHz sampling rate

When will you implement this?

Yes...AAC+ is better than mp3Po! I hope to begin testing an AAC+ stream in the next month or two. I am waiting for an update to my encoding software. The software developers are currrently negotiating AAC+ licensing with third parties. It is important that I wait for the upgrade to this particular piece of software because it interfaces with the automation which allows it to send Artist - Title data to the server. This is required for music licensing purposes.

As soon as the upgrade is available I will set up a test stream. If it proves popular I will discontinue mp3Pro and stream AAC+ only.

Downloading Thomson MP3pro decoder is annoying. 2 Years, 11 Months ago
With mp3pro, you still need to download the Thomson MP3Pro decoder plugin, while AAC+ decoding is built in to Winamp.

If its ok, pls add a 16kbps AAC+ stream also for those who are having a very slow internet connection. For now i am currently lsitening to Hearts 22 (AOL music 16 kbps) and the audio quality is better that your 24 kbps mp3pro stream. This station has the same genre with softNeasy.

Pls notify me if you are already on testing of your AAC+ stream.

God bless and more power!

Bernard,
Yes, one of the advantages to AAC+ is that there will be no additional plugins to download. I would also have a 24kbps stream for dialup users (my host doesn't offer a 16kbps stream).

The AAC+ software I'm waiting for MAY be ready near the end of February. I'll post a note on the web site as soon as I have a AAC+ stream running.

Sort of suggestion...

16/24 Kbps for dial up AAC+ listener
32 Kbps for broadband AAC+ listener

Broadband
96 Kbps Windows Media

*96 Kbps WMA is already at CD Quality.
*Radiostreamer i think doesnt offer Windows Media stream hosting.
