Just using $200 automation software to play standard audio files. For transmission I encode the stream which is relayed to a Shoutcast server elsewhere using a standard DSL line. That leased server is where listeners tune in.

8) i just notice too that with all net radio available right now, no one can match the clarity of Soft'N'Easy's broadcast...even to stations who offer high bitrate aac+, and of course the music here..no kidding, its cool all the time.
Thanks! The key is clean source material. ALL my source files are uncompressed WAV from TM Century's GoldWAV library from which the files for playback originate. Playback files are either 192k mp3 or OGG files at quality setting 8. I may soon just use the uncompressed WAV files for the cleanest sound possible. I also use a processor that conditions the audio for the encoder.

You mean sir you're using a file from your hard drive and not the usual CD itself played on a player just what a conventional FM station did? :? did the entire playlist fits on your hard drive?

Audio files, yes. Plenty of room on today's hard drives. Even most regular AM & FM radio stations in the USA play audio from computer now. I haven't been in a station that uses CD's or tapes in many years.
